It has been two years since I left 20SA and also two years into Ntu. Time really really really flies!

Our second year in hall wasn't as fun as my first.. I didn't have the freshie's enthusiasm anymore after being promoted to become a hall one senior. Perhaps I had treated it as my final year in hall one and my focus for year 2 was my studies to overcome the dreaded computer engineering year 2 semester 2 aka hell sem. After the tri-comm cum children camp interview week even Sammy asked why I didn't went for any interview for the tri-comm.

One of the main event I participated was hall one children camp. It was really an unique experience and I felt the two days of children camp as a GL was equivalent to seven days of school or hall foc! Last year I played more sports because I didn't have the commitments of hall production.. meaning more time for trainings and matches. Soccer, sepaw tekraw, road relay, softball and international chess. One thing I regretted was I didn't play tekraw when I was a freshie.. I could have become a better team manager if I had trained with the seniors like Ah Aloy and Lian Shi who are really experienced soccer and tekraw players.

I am really disappointed with the state of my hall soccer team. It is not a good feeling from being a semi-finalist to a bottom four team for the group stage in just over a year's time. My personal goal is to at least enter the quarter-final but apparently a lot of players in the team have no passion in the sport at all and treat soccer ihg as just a requirement to fulfill the three sports quote to get into the hall rec list. For me I always play out my heart and soul whether it is for hall one, nyjc or zelva. If you don't have any meal before a match in the afternoon it reflects how much commitment you have to play.

Zelva has been improving recently.. of course due to playing more regularly like four matches in two months. I feel we should hold two matches and two trainings per month for us to improve consistently. Secondly, each of us must train to play in the positions which we are comfortable in to contribute more to the team. For me I will strive to improve on my goal-kicks and throw-ins to improve my role as a defender.

My first ICT last month was both fun and shag! Our CO made us ran IPPT under Cat 1 Status.. think he did this because he knew most of us can't performance to our best if we ran again on Friday after two days of outfield and he wanted to see our fitness personally. I am glad most of my 20SA people are posted to the same reservist unit and looking forward to my first overseas fatep together with my gunners!

I will be in Toronto tomorrow night! Just realise I will be away from home for four months 15 thousand kilometres away. Kingston will be colder than South Africa.. think even Lake Ontario will freeze up during winter time!
