It has been half a year since the last update.. the time has come!

My results for the 1st semester is quite decent.. but I can't afford to be complacent as next semester will only get harder and I still have to work consistently, study smart and play hard at the same time. I dreamed I will be selected for an exchange programme during my stay in Ntu, if I can't I shouldn't be too disappointed by overpressurising myself. Basically I am a person who performs best when I don't think or worry too much about the end-results. Computer Engineering is indeed a tough and demanding course. Ultimately I always tell myself I should enjoy learning about computer stuff by treating every lab assignment as puzzles.. this makes learning more fun and challenging!

I strongly feel that universities should change by placing less or even no emphasis on exam results. This idea is impossible unless the mentality of the whole society changes at the same time.. but I find studying things that you will forget after a month even more ridiculous. We should be spending time during the 4 years learning about things that we are interested in or that are applicable to the real world.. not some irrelevant textbook stuff. University is not only about grades, exams and degrees.. I don't one to end up to become a computer nerd after 4 years.

University is the time to meet and make new friends, do things we never do before
and to sum up.. the time to enjoy ourselves before we step into the workforce.

As, As and only As is not my goal in Ntu.

Really enjoy my time in hall.. all the camps, garfios suppers, inter hall sports and recreation games, and don't forget hall production. Believe this or not.. I went caroling for hall production's canvassing during the christmas period! Singing is not my cup of tea but think it was really enjoyable and interesting experience for me. Get to interact with friends from hall 7 along the way. Darts has become one of my favourite hobby also.. good stress reliever. I also got the rare chance to play and train with many seniors who are ex-IVP soccer players. They are really experienced and I learnt a lot from them. Personally, I was very disappointed with my performance during the friendly match against Nus Eusoff Hall.. I was outpaced, outmuscled and outclassed. I still got a long way to go in terms of fitness and experience.

Hope next year I can stay still stay in hall one. I don't know how my university life will be like without hall activities or ccas.. will be boring to the max! There is something I must learn during my stay in Ntu - scuba diving. Think I going be joining the scuba diving club when I am in year 2 or 3.

Looking forward to next semester.. IH soccer quarter-finals, IH road relay, IH swimming, combined hall bazaar, Remember Papa musical, night cycling, and orientation camps 08/09!?!?!!??!!!
